Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - Release of RePORTER ver. 2.0: Enhancements Made to the RePORTER Tool

Several enhancements have been made to the RePORT Expenditures and Results (RePORTER) tool:
  • Principal Investigators (PIs) whose RePORTER records contain an email address (required to confirm their identity) now have the ability to add and manage hyperlinks from their names, wherever they appear in RePORTER, to “profile” websites of their choosing. A profile website might be an institutional or lab website, a researcher profile, bibliography, or any other url providing information on the PI. A blue or orange icon now appears on every project’s Details page next to each PI’s name. A blue icon appears if a profile link already exists for the PI, and an orange icon will appear if a profile does not yet exist for the PI. Clicking on the orange icon allows the PI to create a link to a profile site (after a confirmatory email is sent). Clicking on a blue icon allows users to visit a PI’s profile site or allows the PI to manage his or her links.
  • A Clinical Trials tab has been added to the Search Results page that includes a listing of clinicaltrials.gov records that have been associated with one or more projects in a hit list. The core project number that the study is associated with, clinicaltrials.gov identifier, study name, and study status are all included in the hit list. The title of the study links to a description of the trial on the clinicaltrials.gov site. A Clinical Trials tab also will appear on a RePORTER project’s Information page if any clinicaltrials.gov records have been associated with the project. Users can export these lists to Excel.
  • The Project Information tab for all NIH intramural projects now includes a link to the corresponding page of the NIH Intramural Database Annual Report for the particular project.
We are continually working to improve the RePORTER system. Please share your comments and feedback with us by using the “Click here to contact us” link on either the RePORT FAQs page available in the top navigation banner or the RePORTER FAQs accessible from the RePORTER query page.
